1. Safety Walkthrough Assessment
We begin with an on-site physical walkthrough of your centre's facilities to understand how the centre operates on a day-to-day basis to detect safety risks and blind spots that may be easily overlooked. We talk to directors and educators to understand your operations and needs.
2. Independent Report & Recommendations
Following the walkthrough, we provide an independent report setting out our assessment findings. It recommends how your centre can address blind spots, reduce risk exposure, and excel at safety compliance — with a practical, step-by-step plan for putting those recommendations into action. Where relevant, we align our recommendations with the areas of improvement already identified in your Quality Improvement Plan, so our work strengthens what you're already building rather than duplicating it.
3. Implementation & Ongoing Support
We don't just hand over a report and disappear. We support the implementation of recommendations and remain available as an extension of your management team — a trusted source of advice on governance, compliance and safety culture whenever you need it. That includes extra support through the National Quality Standard assessment and rating process, and help responding to notices and other compliance requirements.
4. Audits
Once our recommendations are in place, we return to your centre for face-to-face audits — including a mix of planned and unplanned visits. Each audit reviews implementation progress, identifies any new issues that have emerged, areas to fix and reports them back to centre management, so that child safety culture remains at the forefront.
5. Safety Hotline
Every centre in the Safer Centres community has access to our dedicated safety hotline. Staff and families can call the hotline to raise any concern directly with a trusted Safer Centres representative, including anonymously.
6. Compliance dashboard
Depending on your needs, we can provide a tailored compliance dashboard that brings your policies, audit reports, Working With Children Check records and mandatory staff training records into one place.
7. Safer Centres Certification
Centres that successfully complete our program receive an annual Safer Centres Certification, a visible statement of a centre's ongoing commitment to improvement, and to the safety and protection of children in its care.
