Churches & Community Organisations

We provide independent advice and support to churches, faith communities and not-for-profit organisations across Sydney that run programs for children — Sunday school, youth group, playgroup and more — to build genuine, lasting child safety practices, not just a policy on a shelf. We help you manage compliance with the NSW Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme and establish child safety frameworks for volunteer based activities.

We understand the importance of kids programs in the community, the level of trust families have in them and the necessary active steps to ensure the safety of children.

1. Safety Walkthrough Assessment

We begin with an on-site walkthrough of the kids program spaces and facilities, from the kids' program room, toilets to pick-up and drop-off points, to assess existing practices, detect safety risks and blind spots. We meet with your pastoral team and key leaders to understand how programs run week to week, ratios and hear about any concerns or limitations so we can determine the best approach for you.

2. Independent Report & Recommendations

Following the walkthrough, we provide an independent report setting out our assessment findings — the gaps we found, and clear recommendations to close them, with a practical plan for putting them into action. We review and refine existing policies against the NSW Child Safe Standards; where they're missing, we'll help you build them. We align everything with your governing body's own child safety policy, so our work strengthens what you're already required to follow rather than duplicating it.

3. Implementation & Ongoing Support

We don't just hand over a report and disappear. We support the implementation of our recommendations and remain on hand as an extension of your leadership team. We will be a trusted source of ongoing compliance advice on governance, culture and process whenever you need it, including support if your organisation receives a child safety complaint or concern about one of your programs.

4. Audits

Once our recommendations are in place, we return for a face-to-face audit, including planned and unplanned visits. Volunteer-run programs turn over volunteers faster than other programs with paid staff, so our audits will check ongoing quality assurance and practices, identifies any new issues that have emerged, and reports them back to your leadership.

5. Tailored Workshops & Training

Policies only work if the people running your programs understand them. We deliver tailored workshops to upskill and educate your volunteers and staff — practical, and relevant to how your programs actually run, not generic slides. Our aim is for child safety to become part of how your team thinks and embedded into the culture, not just a document they signed once.

6. Compliance Dashboard

Compliance is hard to keep on top of when it lives on a desktop or someone's memory. We set your organisation up with an online compliance dashboard that brings your policies, Working With Children Check records and mandatory training records (for staff and volunteers) into one place. This provides your leadership team with simple oversight and a way to track staff/volunteer compliance.

7. Safer Centres Annual Audit Statement

Each year, we complete a full audit of your organisation's programs and issue a Safer Centres Annual Audit Statement, a clear record that the audit took place and that your organisation has committed to a plan of continuous improvement. This is an independent, visible record for your congregation and community.

Our program will help you improve how you deliver kids programs aligned with your goals and values.
